    I've never taken Dermalogica workshops, where do I start?

    Answer

    Begin your journey with Dermalogica D.N.A and become Dermalogica Certified

    This exciting hands-on 3 part workshop  is delivered in a fun and open format that is designed to give you, the Professional Skin Therapist, knowledge and skills needed to achieve the first step in becoming a Dermalogica Expert.

    Once you complete all three Dermalogica D.N.A. workshops, you will be Dermalogica Certified and you may register for any and all of our other workshops.

  2. Q:  

    Do any workshops have prerequisites?

    Answer

    Yes, our primary workshop prerequisite for Professional Skin Therapists is to be Dermalogica Certified or higher.

    Become Certified by completing Dermalogica DNA.

     

    Prerequisites for Non Therapists are  DNA Day 1 and DNA Day 2.

     

    Some workshops within our curriculum may have additional prerequisites. Check what those are in the description box for each class you are booking in the Book a Workshop calendar.

  3. Q:  I'm not a Professional Skin Therapist. What workshops can I take?
    Answer

    All non-therapists (managers, owners, reception, makeup artist, hair stylists) are welcome to take Dermalogica D.N.A. Day 1 Discovering Tops Sellers. You will get to discover and play with our top selling products by experiencing them on your own skin, which is the perfect way to strengthen your retail knowledge.

    Follow this workshop by attending Dermalogica D.N.A Day 2  Navigating Targeted Systems.

    Navigating Targeted Systems is your guide to learning all about Dermalogica’s advanced retail product systems that directly work to prevent or correct specific skin concerns.  

     As you navigate through this workshop you will gain knowledge about the causes and influences of different skin conditions such as aging, sensitivity, hyperpigmentation and acne.

  4. Q:  

    How can I tell what workshops I've booked for?

    Answer

    When logged in, select My Education - My Workshops.

    You'll see your past, wait list and future workshops listed.

     

    You will also recieve a booking confirmation email on the night that you book any workshop with basic details.

    You may also opt into recieving text reminders that are sent 2 days prior to your booked workshop.

  5. Q:  

    How do I cancel a workshop?

    Answer

     

    To cancel a workshop please call us at 1-866-618-1116 x 3 or email bookings.ca@dermalogica.com with all your name, the workshop name, date and location.

    We are available Mondays - Fridays 9am - 5pm EST exlcuding holidays.

     

    Cancellation Policy

     

    A $25-$50 cancellation fee is charged per workshop, if 2 business days' notice isn't given.

     

  6. Q:  

    I didn't get a d-streaming email with my workbook and link.

    Answer

    Once you are registered for any workshop, you will receive an email with the workshop link and workbook one - two days before the workshop date.

    If a public holiday is just before your workshop date, you may receive this email on the morning of your workshop.

    Please also check your junk mail.

    If you still did not receive it, please ensure that you did register for the workshop and give us a call.

  7. Q:  

    Do I get a certificate after class or after DNA?

    Answer

    Certificates are available to all employees of an authorized Dermalogica Skin Centre.

     

    You will recieve a certificate for each completed tier of the Expert journey. So, when you complete all classes for the Certified, level you will get a Certified certificate, and so on for Specialist and Expert.

     

    Certified and Specialist certificates are sent digitally to the students' email on file approximately 3 business days after you achieve this status.

     

    Expert certificates are framed and shipped along with your Expert Pin and Apron to your skin centre on file approximately 10-14 business days after you achieve this status.

     

    The only workshop that has it's own certificate is Pro Power Peel Workshop. A certificate is given based upon successful completion of a the entire workshop, including a hands on portion. At this time, we are not issuing certificates for this workshop as we do not presently offer a hands on portion.

     

    Once you complete Clean Touch certification, you will be emailed your certificate.

    Once you complete any class on the Learning Hub, a digital certificate will be available to you on the 'completed' module.

     

    You can request a digital copy of any certificate (exception: Pro Power Peel) by emailing your request to bookings.ca@dermalogica.com

  8. Q:  

    How can I tell if I am Dermalogica Certified, Specialist or Expert?

    Answer

    Check your journey when logged in as a student, go to My Education - View Expert Journey.

    You can also follow along with our Expert Checklist. You can find this in the Expert Program section of this website.

  9. Q:  

    How do I register for an Expert Assessment?

    Answer

    Online booking is not available for Expert Assessments, and there is not a wait list.

    Once all required workshops are complete, you may call to book and please read below first!

     

    To continue supporting you through your education journey we are offering d-streaming Expert assessments during this time.

    Allowances have been made for these Expert assessments to be both relevant and flexible to our current reality of COVID-19 restrictions/regulations while respecting the integrity of these assessments.

  10. Q:  

    How do I maintain my Expert status?

    Answer

    Any Expert is required to complete 4 workshops per calendar year EXCEPT for the year that you achieved Expert status.  You can take these 4 workshops at our On Tour locations, training centres,d-streaming east and west coast and Learning Hub**.

     

    If you do not complete 4 workshops per calendar year, your Expert status will be set to Inactive. Consider your Expert status is now ‘asleep’.

     

    Once 4 workshops are complete, your Expert status will be set to Active. Consider your Expert status is now ‘awake’ for the rest of the calendar year.

     

    Check your education history (including future booked, wait list workshops) by logging into your profile on this education website here and selecting My Education – My Workshops in the menu bar.

     

    ***Please note, Learning Hub 'On Demand' classes do not count towards maintaining your Expert Status

    How do I become Clean Touch Certified?

    Answer

  13. Q:  

    How long do Learning Hub workshops take to complete?

    Answer

    it is estimated a student will take approximately 2 days to complete Learning Hub DNA Day 1 and 2.

    In hours, it is estimated to take 8 hours to complete.

     

    All other Learning Hub workshops take approximately 3 hours or less.

  14. Q:  

    What do I need to know before my next workshop?

    Answer

    Please note that our workshops begin promptly at the workshop start time. Should you arrive 15 minutes or more late for a workshop you may be asked to retake the entire workshop in order to recieve credit.

    I am a Skin Centre owner/manager but I can’t see a staff member's details when I log in as a Skin Centre?

    Answer

    If you do not see your employee listed, email or call with your employees full name, email, cell and designation (Professional Skin Therapist or Non Therapist)

  16. Q:  Should I wear a uniform?
    Answer

    We require Professional Skin Therapist attire for all practical workshops.

    You may wear your skin centre uniform, alternatively you may wear a pair of scrubs.

    Additionally flat shoes, hair back (if applicable) and short nails are all required for workshop participation.
